Turn your Scars into Stars

Rosemary’s Baby (1968)
On the girl’s brown legs there were many small white scars. I was thinking, Do those scars cover the whole of you, like the stars and the moons on your dress? I thought that would be pretty too, and I ask you right here please to agree with me that a scar is never ugly. That is what the scar makers want us to think. But you and I, we must make an agreement to defy them. We must see all scars as beauty. Okay? This will be our secret.

  1. scars on our skin are always the less painful scars, these on the inside are the worst. I guess. (but then, again, it's not the wound on your heart that physically kills but the cut on the skin...)

  2. i love that quotation- "turn your scars into scars", someone said it to me once and i've never forgot it. It's a Schuller quote right? Thank for stopping by my blog, i'm glad you did because now i get to look at yours :). Hope you are okay.x

  4. This is really beautiful. "Do those scars cover the whole of you, like the stars and the moons on your dress? "...there's something magically poetic about that line. Wonderful :)

  5. A scar usually means you have an interesting story to tell about how you got it...

I suppose the same could be said for emotional ones as well.

Rosemarys Baby is also such a good movie/book.

  14. Thanks for stopping by my blog :)

I love this post. I looked at the others, but I found this one intriguing.

A scar is never ugly, because it shows where our body has healed us, made us good again...and that could never be ugly. It's beautiful because to heal after so much pain is amazing..in every way.
